Jenny Ingram CPsychol AFBPsS
I have been working as a Chartered and Registered Forensic Psychologist since 2008. I currently work as an independent practitioner and am Director of JMI Psychological Services LTD. This was established in April 2016.
I was previously employed by HM Prison Service from 2000 to 2010, during which time I worked with young offenders and adult male and female prisoners with determinate and indeterminate sentences.
Between 2010 and 2016 I was based in a low and medium secure psychiatric hospital, where I worked on both an individual and group-basis, with male and female patients presenting with a range of needs, including mental illness, personality disorder, substance misuse problems, cognitive deficits and learning difficulties. My work included assessment and treatment, using both structured interventions and individualised work.
My work as an independent practitioner currently involves completing expert witness reports for HM Prison Service, in addition to family court reports. I facilitate psychologically informed training courses to mental health professionals across the UK and am an associate lecturer for Manchester Metropolitan University.
I have a particular interest in Mindfulness and staff care and well-being and have developed a range of bespoke training packages, courses and workshops within this field. I have delivered these within the community, in schools and for large organisations within the North West area.
I am trained in a range a wide range of treatment techniques, such as, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectic behaviour therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) and Mindfulness-based approaches. I offer individualised, person-centred psychological therapy and intervention for a wide range of difficulties including:
