I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2006 before which I had several years experience of working therapeutically with a range of people and needs. Clinical Psychologists spend several years training with lots of different age groups and learning lots of different therapeutic techniques. We are carefully regulated and use those approaches that have been shown to be effective, whether they are short or longer-term approaches.
I work with people of all ages and offer carefully tailored and evidence-based psychological interventions to children, adolescents, adults of all ages, families and couples.
I have extensive experience in working with children who have experienced many different kinds of trauma including those in the care system and their carers. I offer consultation and therapy to those that parent looked after and adopted children.
I provide therapy, training about a wide range of presenting problems including OCD, PTSD, depression, low mood, self harm & complex behavioural difficulties. I also work with people who may be at a cross roads in life and feel confused or unsure of where they want to be but have a sense of dissatisfaction or feeling trapped.
I am always happy to discuss the different sorts of therapy that you may have heard of and those that I use with you at assessment and will endeavour to incorporate specific requests that you have in your therapy, because it is a collaborative process.
I also have considerable experience in conducting neuropsychological assessments & have engaged in capacity assessments & medico-legal work cases involving acquired brain injury & assessing rehabilitation needs, forensic neuropsychology & family care proceedings.
